Team Roles Explained

Every team member in Guestii holds one role, and that role controls exactly what they can see and do. This article breaks down each role so you can pick the right one every time.

Account Owner

Full access to everything in your Guestii account. Account Owners can manage venues, events, team members, connections, reporting and revenue across the whole account.

Venue Manager

Venue Managers run the day-to-day for their venue. They can manage events, oversee the team, adjust promoter limits and view reports for the venues they manage. A venue manager can be assigned to multiple venues.

Event Manager

Event Managers organise and run events. They control event settings, guestlists and ticket types for the events they're assigned to, making them the right role for someone running a specific night rather than the whole venue.

Promoter

Promoters bring guests to your events through Guest Line. They work within the ticket type limits you set per event, and every guest they add is attributed to them, so you always know who's driving your numbers. Promoters only see the events they've been assigned to and they must be assigned to a venue before being able to add to events.

Scanner

Scanners admit guests at the door. They can scan passes and check names off the guestlist, with no payment capability. This is the role for door staff who are purely managing entry.

Receptionist

Receptionists do everything a Scanner does, plus take payments at the door. That covers charging guests against their name on the guestlist and processing walk-in entries.

When creating a Receptionist, you'll also see an option to allow them to modify ticket prices at the door. Leave this off if you want pricing locked to what's set on the event, or turn it on if you trust them to adjust prices on the night.

If your venue is running paid entry through Guestii, Reception is the role you need on the door. For setup, click here to read the help article!
