Venues in Guestii
How to set-up venues and why you need to

Why venues exist?
Everything in Guestii sits under a venue. Events, ticket types, team members, Square connections, commission structures. None of it works without a venue being set up first.
For groups operating multiple locations each physical location gets its own venue profile. That means separate teams, separate events, separate Square connections, and separate reporting, all sitting neatly under the one Guestii account.
Venues also power your public-facing Guest Line profile. When you set up a venue, that information is what guests and promoters see when they visit your Guest Line page. So getting it right matters.
How to set up a venue?
Head to the Venues tab in the left nav of the Organiser Web App. Hit Add New and search for your venue address using the Google Places lookup. From there you fill out your venue profile:
Display name — how the venue appears publicly on Guest Line
Handle — this sets your public URL at gst.li/[handle], so choose it carefully because old links will break if you change it later
Brand colour — used to theme your Guest Line profile page
Logo — appears on your public profile
Bio — a short description of the venue shown to guests
One thing worth setting up at this stage is auto approval. When enabled, any request that comes through your Guest Line venue profile is automatically approved and added straight to the relevant event, skipping the Requests tab entirely.
Once saved, your venue is live and ready to have events, team members, and ticket types assigned to it.
If you are operating something like a residency, an external group running recurring events at your venue, you can also add those under the Residencies tab. They get their own profile but sit under your organisation.
A couple of things worth knowing
You cannot create an event without a venue already set up. Same goes for team members. Assigning someone to your org without a venue means they have nothing to actually access. Venue first, everything else second.
Square connections are also assigned at the venue level, so if you want reception and payments at a specific location, the Square OAuth needs to be connected and assigned to that venue before the Receptionist role becomes available.
